Did Jesus Build?

Home

Ask yourself this honest question: Did Jesus build your church?

By that we mean, is Jesus Christ the founder and builder of the church to which you belong?

This is a serious question that needs an answer.

In Matthew 16:18, the Bible makes it clear that Jesus promised to build His church. Is the church you attend the church of Jesus Christ? Notice that Jesus did not build His churches. Rather, the Bible says that Jesus would build His church - singular.

Yet today in the religious world there are Methodist churches, Lutheran churches, Churches of God, Mormon Churches, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc. Even worse, all of these churches teach different things. How can all of these churches be the church that Jesus built when they are all organized different, do different works, and teach different things?

In Acts 20:28, the Bible makes it clear that Jesus is the purchaser of His church. Did Jesus purchase the church that you attend?

In Ephesians 5:23, the Bible makes it clear that Jesus is the head of His church. Is Christ the head of your church, or does the church you attend have a human head? In this same passage, the Bible makes it clear that is the savior of His church.

Clearly then, we must be a part of the church that Jesus built - a church that follows the teaching of Jesus Christ, follows the pattern of doctrine as revealed by the Apostles and New Testament writers, and a church that has as its head only Jesus Christ.

The Reel Road church of Christ is such a church. It follows the teachings of Jesus Christ. It follows the doctrine as revealed by the Apostles and New Testament writers. And its only head is Jesus Christ. There is no human head of the Reel Road church of Christ.
